It’s 5:30AM. Your alarm goes off. Time to get up, work out, do some journaling, planning etc. You really wanna get ahead of the day. Just one problem though. You’re exhausted. It seems like no matter how much you sleep, you wake up exhausted, and can’t really get your energy up, even with coffee or energy drinks.

You want to get healthier, but you can’t even muster the effort to get up & work out.

If that’s you, here are 3 reasons that MIGHT be happening; and what to do to regulate your energy so you can get your body healthy.

Reason #1: Overusing caffeine.

Consuming excessive amounts of caffeine can lead to a decrease in energy levels. Overstimulation of the central nervous system may lead to jitteriness, anxiety, and disrupted sleep patterns.

Additionally, the body can develop a tolerance to caffeine, diminishing its stimulating effects over time. Prolonged high intake can also contribute to adrenal fatigue, where the adrenal glands become overworked, potentially leading to feelings of fatigue and exhaustion.

If you consistently have more than 1 cup of coffee per day, I challenge you to “detox” for a few weeks. Allow your body to regulate it’s own energy, and watch how much your energy actually improves. It’s gonna be hard at first, but your body will adapt, and your energy levels will skyrocket.

Reason #2: Going to Bed Stressed

Crashing into bed with a head full of stress isn’t just a downer for a good night’s sleep—it’s a recipe for dragging energy levels the next day.

When you hit the bed with unresolved worries or a mind buzzing with stressors, your body struggles to reach the deep, restorative sleep it craves. Stress triggers the release of cortisol, a not-so-friendly hormone that disrupts sleep patterns and keeps you tossing and turning.

As a result, you wake up feeling more drained than revitalized, and the cycle of stress-induced fatigue continues.

Making a habit of unwinding before bedtime, whether through relaxation techniques, a good book, or calming rituals, can help ensure a more restful night and set the stage for a day with the energy you deserve.

Reason #3: Not Moving Enough Throughout the Day

Sitting on that office chair or couch all day might feel comfy, but it’s a surefire way to sabotage your energy levels for tomorrow. When you don’t move enough, your body misses out on the chance to pump oxygen and nutrients to your cells, leaving you feeling lethargic.

It’s like your energy tank didn’t get the refill it needed. Regular movement, even if it’s just a quick stroll or some desk stretches, boosts blood circulation and keeps your muscles energized. Plus, it helps regulate hormones that play a role in your sleep-wake cycle, ensuring you get quality shut-eye at night.

Our bodies ideal time clock, prefers a slow wakeup, that gradually progresses into lots of movement & activity, and that slowly winds down. If your whole day is a slow wakeup with no movement, your time clock is gonna be thrown off.

Spend your energy every day, or it’ll be cut from the budget.

When Jordane came to us, her energy was in the TANK. She was slamming 5+ coffees a day just to get thru the work day, and struggling to get healthy. So the first thing we worked on, was improving those levels, and it helped her drop 30lbs, 8in off her waistline AND get rid of her IBS in just 4 months.

Nothings worse than needing & wanting more energy, and not having it. Your kids wanna play after work, but you just wanna get them ready for bed.

Your projects are piling up on your desk, but you can’t focus long enough to knock them all out.

Your spouse wants to go out, but you just DON’T feel like it.

Low energy just makes life worse, and I don’t want that for you.

Chill on the caffeine, implement a stress killing bed time routine, and move your body as much as you can during the day.

You’ll be glad you did.

See you next week.
