4 Ways To Speed Up Fat Loss

So you’ve been dieting a while, hitting the gym, meal prepping, the whole 9. But you feel like things just AREN’T progressing like you’d like.

You’re starting to feel like the “juice isn’t worth the squeeze”. You’re just working way too hard to gain so little.

If that’s you, in today’s newsletter, I’ll give you 4 secrets to speed up your fat loss & get in the best shape of your life even faster.

SECRET #1: ADD 2-4 HIGH FIBER FOODS TO YOUR DAILY DIET!

Fiber is KEY because it slows the bodies speed of digestion. This helps you feel fuller for longer, which decreases the desire you might have to over eat, or grab that late night snack. The “healthier” foods you’re eating will fill you up longer, meaning you’ll get more satisfaction from your diet phase & think about what you’re having to “eliminate” way less.

Fiber also also helps reduce blood pressure, cholesterol & blood sugar levels, which all impact our bodies efficiency at burning fat.

Some of my favorite high fiber foods are:

  • Black beans

  • Apples

  • Collard greens

  • Blackberries

  • Whole grain wheat bread

SECRET #2: ADD 1-3 HEALTHY FATS TO YOUR DAILY DIET

Your body is much more complex than you probably realize. Hormones play a monumental factor in our lives. From our mental state, reproductive health, body composition & more. You won’t make much progress without optimized hormones. And healthy fats help to regulate them.

If you want to burn fat faster, your insulin levels have to be low, which means you can’t have a carb heavy diet & expect rapid fat loss.

Healthy fats also help absorb nutrients better. Vitamins found in certain fats, help to absorb vitamins sound in certain foods like greens & fruits.

Some of my favorite healthy fats are:

  • avocados

  • fatty fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel)

  • eggs

  • lean beef

SECRET #3: HAVE PROTEIN WITH EVERY SINGLE MEAL

At this point, EVERYONE realizes the importance of protein. But you may not be sure WHY it’s important for fat loss.

Protein is the most metabolically active macronutrient, meaning that your body has to expend more calories breaking down protein, than any other type of food.

Protein is also DIRECTLY responsible for building lean muscle, which happens to be the most metabolically active bodily tissue.

Prioritizing protein during your diet phase will help you feel fuller for longer, maintain or even build your lean muscle, all while stripping off the stubborn fat.

My go to protein options are:

  • Fatty fish

  • Chicken & turkey

  • Lean beef

  • Whey protein

SECRET #4: Progressive overload

Now, assuming you’re working out consistently, progressive overload needs to become the next focus.

It’s great that you’re getting active, but our body adapts to a workout VERY quickly. You have to make sure you’re always challenging it in order to continue making progress.

Progressive overload basically means, you make the workout a little harder every time you do it.

You can do this by adding an extra 5lbs, doing another 2 reps, or doing another set altogether. I would aim to do 1 of these 3 things, EVERY SINGLE week, for 6-12 weeks.

This way you know you’re challenging your body with new stimulus every single workout.
